CFM CONTINUES TO MOVE FORWARD WITH
“12 HOUR DOODLE MARATHON”– FIRST IN MALAYSIA!

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 MAY 2015 – “Art is a form of expression that transcends all boundaries”. This year, the Communications and Multimedia Consumer Forum of Malaysia (CFM) celebrates the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2015 (WTISD) with a totally different approach by organizing a “12 HOUR DOODLE MARATHON”- THE FIRST IN MALAYSIA.

The “12 HOUR DOODLE MARATHON” event starts at 10PM, 22 May 2015 and ends at 10AM, 23 May 2015; with the final doodle being completed by the Minister of Communication and Multimedia, YB Dato' Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek at the final hour of the event. This activity is held in conjunction with the national celebration of WTISD 2015 by the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia (KKMM); and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

The objective of CFM “12 HOUR DOODLE MARATHON” is to provide talented doodlers with a platform to both shine and express their artistic prowess by producing a collection of doodles on the landscape of communications and multimedia industry in the future; in sync with WTISD 2015 theme, TELECOMMUNICATION AND ICT: DRIVERS OF INNOVATION.

Merging the celebration of WTISD with doodling allows the 25 talented individuals participating in this marathon to express and share their feelings, thoughts and hopes on the communications and multimedia landscapes in Malaysia through art.

“Art is normally associated with self-expression and how it can affect human emotions. So, this “12 HOUR DOODLE MARATHON” simply rekindles the importance of art in influencing our view of things around us. Besides that, we also want to take this opportunity to provide an additional avenue for CFM to explore new ways to reach out to the general public and spread CFM’s messages through an art form that is easier to assimilate and absorb.” said Deputy Chairman of CFM, En. Megat Ishak Rashid.
